Join a group of like-minded adventurers for a day of exploration, fun, and laughter in the mountains. You may even find some life-long friends along the way.
Let a knowledgeable, fully qualified and first aid trained guide lead you across the lower fells of Lakeland - leaving you to enjoy your day without a worry.
The walk begins in the nearby town of Ambleside, before passing through the quaint little village of Rydal. From Rydal, the route ascends gradually past Rydal Hall and the historic Rydal Mount, once the home of the poet William Wordsworth.
The first significant ascent is Nab Scar, which offers early panoramic views over Rydal Water and Grasmere After Nab Scar, the path continues to climb towards Heron Pike. This stretch is steep but rewards with increasingly expansive views of the surrounding fells and lakes.
The ridge walk to Great Rigg is relatively gentle, providing a respite after the initial climbs. It's then onto the Fairfield summit, the highest point of the walk standing at 873 meters (2,864 feet). The summit plateau offers stunning 360-degree views, including Helvellyn, the Eastern Fells, and the Coniston range.
From Fairfield, the route heads towards Hart Crag and then Dove Crag, maintaining elevation along the ridgeline. The descent begins as you approach High Pike. The terrain here can be rough under foot and requires careful navigation, especially in poor weather. Luckily for you, you'll have an expert guide to lead you through.
Continuing downwards, the path leads to Low Pike, which offers one final viewpoint before the descent back to the valley, across Sweden Bridge, and back into Ambleside for a well deserved refreshment.
